How Safe Is Our Honey From Pesticides?

Honey is one of natures perfect foods, used since Biblical times to sweeten foods and for various health reasons. Until now, no one had to worry about this liquid gold being toxic. With the advancement of technology to make our crops more disease and bug resistant, we are destroying the balance of nature and people. According to The Guardian, Neonicotinoids are poisoning bees and the world’s food supply at an alarming rate.

Scientists in Switzerland tested around 200 samples of honey gathered from all over the world, except Antarctica. The results are startling as they discovered high pesticides levels.

Leading the way in honey pesticide contamination is North America, with 86%, Asia, with 80% and Europe at 79%.

Scientists found 30% of the honey samples contained one pesticide, while roughly 45% contained two pesticides with up to five different types of neonicotinoids chemicals. This means that 75% of our honey is tainted with chemicals, as the makers of these pesticides continue to say they are safe.
