Viktor Orbán has spent the last 16 years building an ‘illiberal’ state in Hungary. Endorsed by MAGA, but penalized by the European Union for democratic backsliding, polls suggest Orbán’s Fidesz party will lose Sunday’s election to centre-right, pro-EU Tisza party, led by former Orbán loyalist Peter Maygar.
