Donald Trump’s repeated musings on seeing Canada become a part of the United States have not been warmly received in Ottawa. And he’s highlighted a persistent concern raised by some on this side of the border — fears that Canada faces potential risks to national sovereignty by getting too close to its southern neighbour.
