International Swimming League targets 2026 relaunch after COVID, war disruptions

Swedish swimmer Sarah Sjostrom and Dutch swimmer Femke Heemskerk compete in the finals of the International Swimming League at the Pieter van den Hoogenband Swimming Stadium in Eindhoven, Netherlands on December 3, 2021.

The International Swimming League plans to relaunch as soon as 2026 after a three-year hiatus, betting a reshaped commercial model, stable backing and momentum from the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics can sustain a global, team-based competition in one of the Games’ marquee sports.
