Interest rate cut hopes pushed back after slower-than-expected inflation fall

The Office for National Statistics said Consumer Prices Index inflation stood at 3.2 percent in March, down from 3.4 percent in February, but was still above the 3.1 percent reading expected by a consensus of experts.
