The annual Conch Shell Blowing Contest in Key West, Florida took place on Saturday, inviting dozens of conch-players of all ages to take their turn at sounding the sea horn. Also called the ‘Conch Honk’ by locals, the event is part of a tribute to the conch shell’s role in Key West’s history as a tool used by sailors, fishermen and islanders to communicate with each other.
