Russia goes cold on bitcoin – again: Threatens to ban cryptocurrency

RUSSIA’S love-hate relationship with cryptocurrency took another twist today when the Central Bank of the Russian Federation announced it would now support proposals to ban payments in bitcoin. Following weeks of pro-cryptocurrency talk from Moscow’s technology leaders – and even nods of approval from within the Kremlin about digital assets – the unpredictable narrative has now switched back to one of negativity towards BTC.
