SMART motorway networks should stop being introduced until safety reviews have taken place and sufficient refuge areas have been provided for motorists, according to experts. The shocking claims come after four people were killed in just ten months on the M1 motorway and a string of highly-publicised accidents across smart motorway networks in the UK.
